Other amenities: putting green, driving range, banquet facilities. Other comments: Pastoral scene among gentle, rolling hills. Cattle are grazing nearby & hikers meander along trails around the course. Private custom homes dot the area with more plans to build in the future. Weekend play can be crowded and can get very backed up. Our group took 5 1/2 hours to play through 16 holes before running out of daylight. For the beginning golfer: Some very challenging holes. You have to be accurate on where you place the ball as there are environmentally protected areas that you cannot go in, even if you can see your ball sitting there. The undulating greens will really test your putting skills.

The Gourmet Golfer says, " When the pro shop at San Ramon Golf Course referred us to Chada, we didn't have high hopes when we found this small restaurant in a shopping plaza. We opened the door and the aromas of curries and stir-fried sweet basil chased our doubts away. The pad thai here is one of the most moist I've ever had. Our foursome loves the goong makur, Japanese eggplant sauteed with prawns, fresh basil, and bean sauce. On a recent visit after playing at Callippe Preserve Golf Course in nearby Pleasanton , we tried their tom kha gai---a soup infused with lemon grass, coconut milk, galangal root, chunks of chicken breast, and mushrooms. Our foursome ooohed and aaahed over the perfect blend of flavors. We'll be back to sample more items from their menu."
